Patagonia Chile Declares Independence!

Patagonia Chile Declares Independence!

Postby Vicki and Greg Lansen on Tue Apr 01, 2008 10:33 am

Developing story from the Southern Chlie new organization, Noticias Austral (NT) :
Staff Report:
Noticias Austral reports that the "Coalition for a Free Patagonia" has succeeded in a subversive bid to form it's own government, essentially separating Regions X, southward, from Chile. The new government cut all ties with Central and Northern Chile, set up "national checkpoints" delineating the borders for the budding nation.

Calling itself "The Patagonia States", it is headed by the new President, Charles Spencer and Vice-President, a mysterious figure called Sr. El Puelche, who was out of the country at the time of the succession.

The new nations Declaration of Independence is "simplistic, yet utterly brilliant", Spencer told reporters in an interview via his Blackberry from an undisclosed location. The Golden Rule, No Massive Hydro Dams, No Commercial Mining and a Ban on Cristal Beer are among issues addressed in the declaration. The Constitution is being hammered out and fine-tuned.

Citizens will vote to adopt the new constitution online after making additions, corrections and suggestions on a "Wiki-Constitution" located at http://www.allchile.net. The fledgling nations new flag is a garish green with a strange purple blob character holding a single malt, unfiltered beer in it's right hand.

...but i do propose a motto....." Carpe Chicha "...you can put it on the flag if you want....

Yea, it is that 12 hour ferry ride to Chaiten, or alternatively the stomach wrenching 200 meter turbulent drops in a single engine Cesna while looking at the fine details of those trees on the mountain side from your window that are the real check points. Good luck convincing an army to get on either. Switzerland wished they had that sort of security (I think our mountains are bigger too).
