temperature restricttions for traveling with animals

has anyone delt with temperature restrictions traveling with an animal on an international flight with a US carrier? I am trying to bring my cat on a flight from minneapolis to santiago via miami; unfortunately the airline's policy is that it will not accept animals if the actual or forecasted temperature at any location on the itinerary is above 85F or below 45F. Miami in late May is a gamble. Anyone had any experience with this?
