WARNING: Car stolen at revisions technica

Postby admin on Mon Mar 03, 2008 4:31 pm

A family member in Santiago was recently having their revisions technica done. While having a cup of coffee next door, the guys at revisions technica handed the car keys to a thief that drove off with the car.

Now there is a bit if dispute going on as it turns out they did not have insurance to cover the car theft, and are dragging their feet. The insurance company is claiming they only cover damage done by working on the car, but no responsibility for the car getting back to the owner. My wife being the family lawyer is working on it, but this looks like it is going to be a long drawn out battle to get the money for the car, let alone the fact the family member were left without a car for several weeks or months while it is settled.

revisions technica stations are not government owned, but private franchise licensed by the government to conduct car inspections.

In many of these sorts of cases, it turns out that the guys working there are buddies of the guys steeling.

Keep an eye on your car, no matter where it is in Santiago or the central region. Crime is going up in Santiago.

Can they sue the revisions technica?
There are two kinds of people in the world, those who understand free markets and those who don't.
