Ok, let's try that in English...

I think I got it all . . . except that "gil" part.

Thanks, Zulu; I really didn't know the meaning of "gil" -- I'm not even certain that I'd ever heard it before. Claro que mi vocabulario no es tan grande que hubiera pensado.

Check out the big brain on Brett! (Pulp Fiction,1994)

Heywood:"Count of Monte Crisco…by Alexandree Dum-ass…?"

Andy Dufresne:"Dumas. Know what that's about? You'd like it. It's about a prison break."

Red:"We ought to file that under 'Educational' too, oughtn't we?"

—Heywood, , and "Red" discuss additions to the prison library in The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

That..."Count of Mont Crisco"

LOL

LOL. I get in BEEEG trouble for referring to my wife's twin sister as "gil"....."Tirza (her name), gil, ques as hecho?" She returns the love.

Just saw Shawshank for the tenth (or so) time the other day, great movie, even if Tim "Left of Lenin" Robbins is in it, he's such a Dumas.

any one seen the movie "Chile Puede"?

Chile develops a space program and the first Chilean in Space gets left there because of some sort of political unrest involving the United States.

It is on my to be seen list.

I watched the trailer on YouTube. Chile Puede appears to be an amusing farce in the tradition of The Mouse that Roared, but I doubt it'll still be in the theaters by the time I return in August. Perhaps it'll be out on DVD by then.

The IMDB, with a total of seventeen votes (all from outside the United States; I'd suppose, all from Chile), shows a composite rating of a mere 5.2, poor enough to indicate that, despite a very amusing preview, the entire movie mightn't be worth the expenditure of time and money to see it.

If any AllChilean should see Chile Puede, perhaps he could post his impression of the film.

Ok, I'm quiet interested in the Asian part, I like Asia, specially Korea(south), and Japan. What's the Asian population in Chile and do they live in certain areas, I don't know if any of you watch in TVN or TVchile a program called Inmmigrantes (I don't know if spelled that right) where they showed the Japanese in Chile I find it very interesting thanks.

I saw most of it. In fact, I am acquainted with the young guy profiled in that segment.

The majority of the chileno japoneses are not very japones in character but distinctly chileno in outlook and behavior.
