Howdy lilprincess.
I met my wife (Canadian) over the Internet, came to Canada with $300 US to my name, married my wife, and applied to be a Landed Immigrant from within Canada once married. So yeah it's possible to bring your spouse into Canada. Thar's immigrants all over the place round heer!
However.....
I could not work for a year and a half until I was approved as a Landed Immigrant. Canadian authorities are sticklers for proper paperwork and following the rules. If your Chilean husband is caught working illegally - it's good bye to Canada for him (I think).
It's COLD....brrr...brrr...up here! Make sure your Chilean husband is aware of that. If possible stick his head inside of a freezer and see how long he stand it before he must removeth his head. Tell him Canada gets colder than that freezer (no lie).
Have him touch a really, really cold and long time frozen ice stray with the tip of his tongue and once it sticks to the ice, see how long he can last with it hanging off his tongue. Tell him there is no kissing in the outside cold air LOL.
Did I say it's COLD...brrr...brrr. up here?
Canada taxes residents on world wide income if they have ANYTHING of value left in the country when they leave to go live somewhere else. Valuable as in banking ties, mortgages, and the like. I am not a lawyer but essentially they will try and tax you on world wide income if they can at all find a reason to do so. Moral of that is that if you ever want to leave Canada to go elsewhere take everything with you.
Get to know the Canadian Immigration web site like the back of your hand.

Immigration Lawyers are in my personal opinion highly overpriced and on the whole not absolutely needed. I never used one.
Anyway just my two cents.
