Yep,
My name is Claudio
I live in Woodbridge, NJ (USA)
I was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ,
but my parents are both Chilean and moved here in 1969.
Personally I'm a Systems Engineer working for an advertising
company in New York.

Family
I'm married to a wonderful women (high school sweetheart)
whose half cuban and half italian. I have been slowly trying to
Chilenize her. So far she makes great empanadas (both
meat and cheese ones), and she know how to make a Miloja
cake. She also has switched from making salads with
italian dressing to now making them with lemon, salt and oil.
Haven't gotten down the tomatoes with onionw yet.
Oh!!! And she know how to make Fresh Pebre!!
We have a 2 yr old son now and we are living and growing
like a regular family should. And yes, with crazy dreams of
possibly moving to Chile and living there for a short time.
I still have alot of families members in Chile who
always great me with all their love. (the kind
that I never encountered with any other here).

Hobbies
I have an online store website up and its fun to have
since we get to meet other Chileans all over the US.
The business itself though is just a hobby, the profit
is way too small so the store pays itself.
One of the best things about this little hobby is that
the past 1 year we have attended a couple of Chilean
"18" festivals and we got to meet alot of Chilean expats and
share stories about when they came here and what they
missed the most and "where's the pisco?"

And well, thats me!!!

Ah, you do sound Chilean. Nice to have you here. It's a nice community that welcomes many outlooks and opinions from people. A lot of love for Chile, although not always understanding. But maybe you can help.

Laura,
I'll try to do the best I can.
Admin,
Are you really from Temuco?

Laura, when I went there in 2004 my cousin over there took
me to the Concha y Toro winery place. Quite amazin. I love the
dungeon where they make the casidillo del diable wine. I also
had my first taste of Camenere there as well. I never had such
a great wine tour, the guide there was very informative too.
Alothough come to think of, alot of the tour guides there
are French or other Europeans. I can tell me the accents.

When I was in Chile in 2006 I loved the artisan markets in
Temuco and in Chillan. I'm always getting requests for item's
like, "el picaro", el trompo, el emboque,
and those awesome copper plated designs.

IF either of you know of anyone who wants to do some exporting
business, please send them my way. I'm not talking about
big company like busniess, just sending some items via regualr
mail like TNT. I always get request to bring over more artisan
items but I have little conatact with anyone who knows.
Oh and the condorito magazines as well.

Question, which Chielan Salsa is better?

Do current Chilean prefer the JB Aji Chileno
or the Don Juan Aji Chileno?
Personally I use the JB brand but have not tried the Don Juan
one in awhile. (From my own research , I believe the two were
created by the same company, not 100% sure tho).

I know there are others, but these are the only ones I know
of.

IMO, the best bottled/packaged Chilean aji sauce is Diaguitas. This is a pure product - only aji extract and salt, nothing more, no fillers or preservatives. It comes in red or green aji versions. It is on the salty side, the salt being the only other ingredient.

Hey, you know I have heard of that one!!!
I think my mom brought some over from there WAYYYYYYY
back in the day (like in the 80's, iI think it was that one).
I remember because it was a small glass bottle and it
had very strong smell to it. I remember my mom
would add it to her soups.
wow...talk about a flash back....thank you by the way!!

So your telling me that's the best one?

In my unhumble opinion, ¡SÍ! I'm a purity fan. It's from the Valle de Elqui which adds even more aura to it's manufacture.
