Re: Is it time to swap your Mac for a Window's laptop?

My next move is windows to linux That's a good choice if you're using your computer for documents and browsing. But Linux lacks hundreds of professional apps due to its desktop market share. I'll need to keep windows on a virtual machine for stuff I can't do on linux. But a lot of my work is server...

Re: Package Fowarding companies for USA Online Shopping to Chile. Recommendation

This one was recommended to me before, but I haven't tried them personally: http://www.etraders.cl/ I'd still use USPS for uncomplicated shipments, that are within their limits (size, weight, etc.), since they're probably the cheapest. And they don't charge up-front for customs fees that may never g...

Re: Package Fowarding companies for USA Online Shopping to Chile. Recommendation

I believe USPS uses DHL to ship international not quite sure USPS has Global Express Guaranteed that uses Fedex from the US to Chile. But once it gets to Chile, someone else takes over. Last time I checked, the prices were probably a little cheaper than using Fedex directly. And more expensive than...

Re: Package Fowarding companies for USA Online Shopping to Chile. Recommendation

I understand. the recipent in chile would need to have the account. i would prefer not to deal with custom directly or with correos either a door to door company is preferable. I'm not in Santiago, so there may be options there that I'm not aware of. But If you don't want to deal with Correos. And ...

If you do get a virtual mailbox somewhere, make sure there aren't any legal complications with having an address wherever it is. It might look like you actually live there.

You can try virtualpostmail.com for sending stuff. They typically (but will do it another way) ship with USPS, and don't charge much over what USPS charges. Then you pay customs fees to correos (if there are any), when you pick it up. There's a monthly fee for the mailbox though.

Re: Chilexpress delivery notices

They emailed back, and said it's still at their office. So I hope they keep it there, until I can get there.

Re: Chilexpress delivery notices

So it sounds like it might still be at their office (wherever that is). Hopefully they'll email me back tomorrow, and let me know if I can pick it up, and where. Or at least tell me who sent it. It was sent just after I got a package from Fedex, so it might be from Aduanas or SAG, since I didn't hav...

The tracking says "Pieza en devolución al remitente", so I just emailed them. I wish I at least knew who sent it:(

Re: Chilexpress delivery notices

They seem to state they would return, in the FAQ. However, they used to be relatively easy to reach, and more or less quick to respond to their web inquiries. In the past, at least. 9. ¿Cuántos intentos de entrega en el domicilio realiza Chilexpress, antes de devolver un envío al remitente? Chilexp...
