Re: How to Fail Your Revision Tecnica

When I was in Chaiten I saw someone stop outside a shop and walk into the shop leaving the engine running outside. My theory is that it's not that the people in a remote region in the south are more moral, but that crime is more difficult to get away with. I mean if someone from the town stole the ...

Re: Permanent Residency Application/Exiting the Country

Re: How to Fail Your Revision Tecnica

I just started having our regular taxi driver pick them up and take them through revisions techinca. Got tired of waisting my own time on it. Many insurance companies (not SOAP, but the extra insurance) offer free service to pick up the car to the inspection (revisión técnica) place and bring the c...

Re: How to Fail Your Revision Tecnica

yea, I have had my mechanic do it too. Just our driver does it for like 30,000 pesos, and he has to drive all the way to Puerto Montt or Osorno. So, pretty good deal all and all. Especially if it means not spending a whole afternoon messing around with it myself.

Re: Vina & China

My chinese friends in china have a very, very long list of other places to go first. Imagine you live in a country that almost no one has ever traveled at all, let alone for international recreational tourism reasons. Most of my friends in china with money, watched their grand parents starve to deat...

Re: Vina & China

and don't forget the new IVA and real estate tax that shot the real estate market in the foot. Santiago had a drop of 38% in sales of apartments. How do you think vacation apartments that cost as much or more are doing?

Re: Vina & China

yea, another saturated market of apartment buildings in a none-core living area. The first time the Santiago job market turns a little soft, people start dumping their speculative vacation property on the coast they don't really use or need. Renting them is not that easy either, except for a few rea...

Re: Tompkins Donates 1 million acres

Wait, so was nationalism on the rise or leftist movements? :D typical bla, bla, american press coverage template by a U.S. news source. They could have been talking about the price of beef in Brazil or Tequila in mexico. They have to insert the "rise in nationalism" and "leftest move...
